I saw a lot of promo for EEEEEATSCon in New York City on Instagram and decided to go on a whim. I had never gone to a food event that sounded like this one, so I was down to try it. This was the first big event away from home that I’ve gone to by myself, so this was different for me. I was hoping for the best.

The lines in the first section were pretty long, so I skimmed over the menus to see if there was anything that jumped out at me. I didn’t see anything I wanted. It was great that they had a giant map posted, but I had never been to this stadium before. Winging it was the best option for me.

What really got my attention was Bailey’s Treat Bar. There were quite a few pastel-colored chairs and tables set up for eating the desserts offered in that area of the stadium. I had my eyes on Dulcinea, a churro spot, first.

If heaven were churros, they would be these dulce de leche churros rellenos. My goodness! These churros had the perfect crispness. Out of all the filling options, I chose dulce de leche based on one of the employees’ recommendations. I absolutely love caramel, so this turned out to be a great choice. The other fillings available were Nutella, Bailey’s Cream, and creme brulee. Honestly, you probably couldn’t have gone wrong with any of the filling options!

The Bailey’s Treat Bar was further down. You had the option of getting hot chocolate or coffee with your choice of one of the following Bailey’s products: original Irish cream liqueur, pumpkin spice, and almande. I loved that they had so many toppings available. Chocolate chips, crushed graham cracker, sprinkles, marshmallows, caramel sauce…just about everything you’d want to put on a beverage like this.

I chose pumpkin spice hot chocolate with crushed graham cracker and whipped cream on top. The cookie stirrer was addition. It wasn’t as good as I expected it to be. It tasted like the hot chocolate was a little watery, and I’m sure most of us know that watery hot chocolate is a no go.

It’s disappointing to say that I didn’t get anything else at EEEEEATSCon. Each restaurant had an extremely limited menu, which I expected. They had two to three menu items each. There was a lot of food I had not interest in trying/don’t eat. The places I wanted to try had lines ridiculously long, and I just didn’t have the patience to wait for 30 minutes, plus just to find out the item you wanted was sold out. That’s what happened when I was standing in line for something I actually wanted.

EEEEEATSCon is good for having something to do on the weekend with your friends. Option-wise, it was good for those who have no limits for trying new things. There were also quite a few vegan options. I love that they had a panel and a band playing in the main area. I loved the venue because it was big enough to have so much going on. If this sounds like your kind of thing, I say go.

Until next time.
