Berries & Bowls

Who doesn’t love a good smoothie bowl? I was invited to check out Berries & Bowls’ Bethesda, Maryland location and try one of their smoothie bowls. I was so excited to try it out.

Berries & Bowls is a family-owned business with two locations in Montgomery County, Maryland. They only use fresh ingredients for their products. They offer smoothies, smoothie bowls, fresh-pressed juices, chia pudding, and avocado toasts.

Note: I did not pay for the smoothie bowl because it was a part of a blogger event.

I love that Berries & Bowls has six different smoothie bowl bases: açai, pitaya, kale, spirulina, coconut, and jackfruit. They have a strong lineup of bowls, so it’s hard to choose just one! I asked the manager what he recommended: the Feelin’ Good smoothie bowl. Berries & Bowls also sells locally made and crafted products like kombucha and honey.

Feelin’ Good Smoothie Bowl

The Feelin’ Good smoothie bowl had an açai base and was topped with banana, blueberries, kiwi, and granola. Chia seeds were sprinkled on top with a drizzle of honey.

This smoothie bowl was so good! I loved that they didn’t skimp on the fruit. I was amazed that the bananas complemented the other fruits instead of overpowering the entire bowl. A tidbit I learned from the manager was that bananas start to overpower smoothies when they start turning brown. He gets bananas when they are yellow to keep that from happening to their products.

Mad Magic Kombucha

I’ve tried kombucha twice before trying this one, so I figured that the third time’s the charm. Mad Magic Kombucha is handcrafted in Vint Hill, Virginia. They craft the kombucha in an organic environment and only do the fermentation process once so the brew has more flavor. Out of the flavors available, I really wanted to try the Lemon Rosemary.

I loved this kombucha. It doesn’t taste as vinegary as other kombuchas I’ve tried, and the flavor stands out. I’d absolutely get this again.

Berries & Bowls had one of the best smoothie bowls I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to go back and try some of their other products. The next time you’re in Bethesda, check it out!
