There’s nothing like checking out a new (or new to you) cafe. Ragamuffins Coffee House in Laurel, MD has been on my list for a while. I’m happy that I finally had some time to check it out!

Ragamuffins Coffee House is located on Main Street. It’s owned by Redemption Community Church. Its vision is to cultivate a space for the community where they can connect around handcrafted coffee. Learn more about Ragamuffins’ vision and values here.

The coffee house was busy when I got there, so I ordered my stuff to go. It’s a small space, so there weren’t many tables. I went around lunchtime, for reference.

Note: Ragamuffins Coffee House is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

WHAT I ORDERED

Ragamuffins’ menu consists of coffee drinks, non-coffee drinks, and food items. The coffee options include lattes, Cafe Miel, and cold brew. They do not add sugar or syrups to the drinks. For those interested in non-coffee drinks, the menu includes chai lattes, hot and iced teas, juices, and kombucha. The food items are light and are meant to complement the coffee. Food like quiche, muffins, bagels, and scones are available.

Matcha Latte

You can’t go wrong with a matcha latte! I usually get mine iced, but I was in the mood for something hot on this cold day. You have the choice to get it hot or iced. The milk options are almond, breve, skim, soy, 2%, or oat. Some milk options have an extra cost. You can sweeten your matcha latte with regular sugar or stevia. You can also add a shot or two of espresso.

This matcha latte was solid. If you like matcha anything, you’ll enjoy this!

Kouign Amann

Have you tried a Kouign Amann pastry before? I hadn’t tried the original one before and was excited to try it. Kouign-amann is a sweet, laminated pastry from Brittany, France. It’s known for buttery, flaky layers. It also has a caramelized exterior (Source: Wikipedia).

This pastry was beautifully flaky and buttery! It also had a subtle sweetness that I enjoyed. If you love croissants, you’ll enjoy Kouign Amann!

WRAP-UP

Ragamuffins has a neighborhood coffee house vibe. It seemed like a great place to chill by yourself or with a friend. There are some menu items I want to try soon. The next time you’re in or near Laurel, MD, check out Ragamuffins Coffee House!
