Fresh Pastries at Tous Les Jours

There’s nothing like a fresh pastry. The softness will do it for me every time! I recently found out that Tous les Jours opened a location in Columbia, MD. Admittedly, I liked having it to myself for a short time. It was noticeable that not many people had known about it a few weeks ago. I’ve gone three times noticed a big increase in foot traffic. It’s great seeing when people find out about a great spot!

Tous les Jours is a French and Asian bakery with many locations nationwide and one Canada location. The menu includes freshly baked bread, cakes, pastries, and beverages.

WHAT I ORDERED

Tous les Jours offers breads, cakes, sandwiches, pastries, pies, coffee, espresso, tea, signature drinks and blended drinks. There are also seasonal drinks, like the Pumpkin Matcha.

Drinks

Iced Tiramisu Latte

The Tiramisu Latte is inspired by the tiramisu dessert. According to Tous les Jours, it’s a “fusion of rich espresso, creamy tiramisu flavors, and a hint of sweetness.” It’s also topped with cocoa powder. It’s available hot and iced. I personally love the dessert, so ordering this as my first drink was a no brainer. The Tiramisu Latte was also selected as a finalist for the 2024 World Coffee Innovation Awards.

I loved the Iced Tiramisu Latte so much that I ordered it twice. I gently swirled it a few times and enjoyed every sip after. I enjoyed the creaminess of this latte a lot. This drink was well balanced, and the cocoa powder on top was a nice touch. I’m still thinking about this drink months later. If you enjoy lattes, I recommend trying this one if you see it on the menu!

Iced Ube Latte

The iced Ube Latte was made with chilled milk that’s infused with sweet ube flavor, and it’s poured over ice. (Ube is a purple yam.) I tried ube years ago when I started going to bubble tea spots and have loved it ever since.

Pastries

Mango Cream Doughnut

There’s not a large doughnut collection here. You’ll at least see some classic flavors like Chocolate Cream and Vanilla Cream. When I visited, they also had Mango Cream. I was excited to try it since I hadn’t had a mango doughnut before. I didn’t see any of these on the site’s menu, so I don’t know the exact details of how it’s made. I can tell you based on my experience that the Mango Cream Doughnut was pillow soft, dusted with sugar, and filled with a fresh and fluffy mango cream. It was garnished with a mango piece.

This was the softest and freshest doughnut I’ve ever had, hands down. I loved how flavorful the cream was, and the mango piece added a nice touch. I thought the sweetness of this doughnut was great and not overdone.

BEC Croissant

I visited at lunch time the first time I visited Tous les Jours, so I was glad that there were sandwiches available. It was so much to take in looking at all that they offer that I’m glad that my sister and I noticed the BEC Croissants. Your standard bacon, egg, and cheese but on a croissant instead of a bagel.

I loved this BEC Croissant so much. It tasted like a few other BECs that I’ve had, but the croissant took it to a different level for me. The soft yet flaky texture of the freshly made croissant made me want to get one again ASAP. I unfortunately haven’t been successful. They seem to sell out quickly. Also, if you’re someone who isn’t a fan of soft scrambled eggs, this may not be the menu item for you.

Strawberry Croissant

I saw the Strawberry Croissant and just had to get it. Strawberries and cream is such a wonderful combo, so I had a feeling it would be great. This pastry is made with cloud cream and fresh strawberries. It’s dusted with powdered sugar.

I loved how light this pastry was. I hadn’t had whipped cream on a croissant before. The cloud cream worked well with the slight buttery flavor of the croissant. The strawberries added a nice sweetness. Who doesn’t love strawberries and cream?!

Red Bean Doughnut

I hadn’t seen a Red Bean Doughnut before, so I had to get it! It was exactly what I had hoped—a soft, pillowy doughnut with a sweet red bean filling. Texturally, this doughnut is on point! The sugar dusting was a great way to add a little more sweetness since the red bean paste isn’t very sweet. The freshness of this doughnut was perfect! I’m still thinking about it weeks later.
