If you’re looking for a cafe to add to your rotation, you need to check out Sunday Morning Bakehouse in Bethesda, MD at Pike & Rose. Their handcrafted and house-made pastries are made in small batches. They only use high-quality ingredients.

Sunday Morning Bakehouse is located in Bethesda, MD, and was founded by Caroline Yi, a Montgomery County, MD native. The name of this family-run bakery was inspired by her mom making Sunday breakfast spreads because it was the only day that her father had off. WHAT I ORDERED

Sunday Morning Bakehouse sells handmade croissants (sweet and savory), seasonal pastries, breakfast items, toasts, a few lunch items, and other pastries. They also have matcha, tea, chai, and coffee drinks: drip, espresso, cappuccino, latte, and cold brew. There are also a few syrup options available.

Caramel Cold Brew

Over the past year or so, I’ve become a big cold brew fan. I love that it’s less bitter than a regular brew. I had been thinking about cold brew all week, so I ordered that and added caramel syrup to it.

This Caramel Cold Brew was one of the smoothest I’ve had. The caramel really got to shine in this drink. And to think I almost didn’t add the caramel syrup. If you love your coffee less sweet, this may be the drink for you. It’s more on the coffee side than the sweet side.

Blueberry Croissant Tart

The Blueberry Croissant Tart looked so interesting to me. Flaky, soft, fresh…how could I not order it? It’s made with a cream cheese filling, blueberries, and lemon zest.

This pastry was delicious. I love a good lemon zest with berries. You could taste how fresh the fruit and the croissant tart were. It was also perfectly flaky. I’d order this again in a heartbeat.

Jelly Donut

I ordered a strawberry jelly donut for my mom, and she let me try a bit for this blog post. It smelled amazing and tasted so fresh. I loved how soft it was. The filling paired well with and was balanced out with the donut itself. This was one of the best jelly donuts I’ve ever had.

Other Items I’ve Tried

Cold Brew Shandy

If you enjoy coffee, I think you’d like the Cold Brew Shandy. It’s a mix of cold brew coffee and lemonade. It has a unique and intriguing flavor. I wouldn’t have thought to put these two things together, but it works.
