It’s fun finding coffee shops that offer unique options. Piña Colada Matcha? Tres Leches Latte? Centrado Café Shop is a shop I recently found that offers these drinks and more.
Centrado Café Shop is nestled in Burtonsville, MD. I really wanted coffee on this particular day, but I wanted something different. Something not *insert any chain coffee shop here*. When I looked through the menu, it was refreshing to see and was exactly what I was looking for. Centrado’s menu is inspired by Central America. I ordered a drink for pickup but want to note that this shop looks like a great spot to have lunch with a friend.
Note: Centrado Café Shop is wheelchair-accessible. There are also accessible parking spaces in front of the shop.
WHAT I ORDERED
I have to admit that there are so many interesting coffee options, that it was hard to narrow it down to one thing. The menu included drinks like the Miel & Canela Latte, the Raspberry Spiced Chai Latte, and the La Lechera Shakerato. If you like classic coffee drinks more, there are also options like Flat White, Espresso, and Cappuccino. These drinks that I haven’t seen anywhere else give me a reason to make the drive and try a new drink or two.
I ordered the Iced Horcha-latte, which is made with a Horchata base, double espresso, and steamed milk. The milk options include whole milk, 2% milk, oat milk, half and half, and almond milk. You can also order this drink hot or as a frappe. The drink size options are regular and grande (large).
I was excited to try this drink because I loved horchata when I first tried it in San Diego years ago. Ever since then, it’s something that I want to try if it or any version of it is on the menu.
This drink was incredible. I loved that the horchata flavor was the star of this drink without being overpowering. I could taste all the warm spices in the horchata, and I think they worked well with the espresso. This is a drink I’d order again without hesitation. If you love horchata and coffee, this drink is for you!
CONCLUSION
Centrado Café Shop is a beautiful shop with solid menu options. I love that there’s a solid range of coffee drinks. I ordered my drink online, and the pickup experience was seamless. (FYI, it can be easy to miss the turn into the parking lot if you’re arriving by car.) The next time I visit, I want to try their smoothies, acai bowls, and pastries.
